Well we’ve already seen signs of spring approaching. Bulbs are appearing and the birds are becoming active again. As the month proceeds the temperature (should) (may) (might) will rise. The days will stretch out. There will be a buzz by the end of the month.

The main job to complete this month is pruning shrubs and climbers before the spring. Hedges (specially evergreens) can be trimmed back or reduced if necessary.

It is the last chance to get on top of it before spring.

Look out for bulbs appearing this month. Snowdrops will give us a flash of white in those mossy beds first, but early flowering daffodils, iris and crocus can be seen towards the end of the month.
